General Funding of the Trust
Once the Trust has been signed, the estate planning is not yet over.
In order to avoid probate on all of your assets you need to change the ownership from yourself to yourself as Trustee of the Trust.
In the blue booklet which contains your original signed estate planning documents, there is a general explanatory letter and a set of "fill in the blanks" funding letters.
You should use these letters to contact the various financial institutions which hold your money and investments.
These letters are the first step to changing the ownership title from yourself (and your spouse) to "yourself (and your spouse) as Trustees of the Trust".
I have included in this website a sample general purpose funding letter which can be printed right off the page.
